
Helping small restaurant owners maintain their finances
Accounting and food. Two things you would never say together in a word association game, right? We might! We visited a couple small business owners who own small restaurants or food trucks in Bhubaneswar and helped them create their books of account. Read our blog article to know more!

Project, in a nutshell
Here’s what we did over the nearly one month long live project. We visited small restaurants, food trucks and food stalls around us. We tried to find friendly business owners who were willing to work with us (this was the hard part). Once we got them on board, we asked for their finances over the past year which was naturally, recorded in unstructured form in small notebooks and diaries. We made sense of it and recorded it more systematically. Then the fun part starts! We created-

- Balance Sheet
- Cost Analysis
The objective of this project was to create books of account from scratch and perform cost analysis using accounting frameworks. This was a great learning experience as we got to interact with micro-entrepreneurs, learn about how they run their business and got to apply our accounts knowledge in a real-world scenario.
